Modi Fest to render awareness about schemes to beneficiaries

GUWAHATI, June 17: In a move to bring the largest river island Majuli at the tip of  finger, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal today unveiled an android mobile app for dissemiting information on xatriya culture, Mising culture, Carbon Registry, inputs on hotels, transport, lodges, car mechanic, car rentals and all information regarding district administration etc., of Majuli in the presence of Xatradhikar of Uttar Kamalabari Xatra Jardan Deb Goswami at a function at Majuli on Saturday. 
Chief Minister Sonowal also participated in a function christened Making of Developed India (Modi) fest organized at Garmurh in Majuli. The programme, popularly known as Modi Fest, was organized to showcase the achievements of the NDA Government at the Centre in the last three years led by Prime Minister rendra Modi. 
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sonowal said that in the last three years the NDA Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi launched several welfare measures to bring all sections of people, especially the poorer section of the society, in the schemes of things. Referring to NDA’s pet programme ‘Jan Dhan Scheme’ where in all the people belonging to economically insolvent classes were brought to the banking fold by creating bank accounts in their mes, Sonowal said that the system has led to direct transfer of government subsidies without the presence of any middle man. 
Sonowal also said that Prime Minister rendra Modi’s decision on demonetization has had a cascading effect to wipe out black money and corruption. Moreover, demonetization has expedited digital transaction and created a deterrent against corruption in the country. In the post-demonetization period, the Assam Government has ebled eight lakh tea workers to open their bank accounts which would again help them to have direct access to the benefits of different government subsidies. 
Sonowal also said that the Centre has launched several schemes for the benefits of the people belonging to all sections and to generate awareness about the schemes, Modi Fests are being organized to eble the beneficiaries to reap dividends. He also appealed to all sections of the people to extend their cooperation towards successful implementation of the schemes for the welfare of all and sundry.
Stating Prime Minister rendra  Modi’s decision to address the tion on the occasion of NDA government’s three year completion in power from Assam itself was an indication of Centre’s overwhelming priority to Assam and Northeast and their development. He also termed Assam and Northeast as a growth engine to the development of a new India as Sonowal called upon all  sections of the people to render their unequivocal support to Modi’s dream of a developed India.
