Modi pins hope on youth, so is Sonowal

GUWAHATI, Dec. 24: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal urged the students and youth of the country to play an important role in leveraging growth in India.

Sonowal made this call while taking part in the iugural programme of 23rd All India Students and Youth Festival organized by Central Calcutta Science & Culture Organization for Youth in cooperation with Union DONER Ministry at Army Public School, rengi in Guwahati on Sunday.

“Students and the youth are the future of the tion. Their actions and thoughts give a new momentum to its progress. The youth must realize their power and devote in the tion building exercise with honesty and sincerity,” Sonowal exhorted.

Urging the youth to take a pledge to work for the country’s development, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister rendra Modi pinned tremendous hope on their abilities. They have to materialize this expectation in their field of activities by persistently working for this cause, he added.

Stating that concerted effort by the youth of the 11 participating states would lead to better bonhomie amongst the people of these states, Sonowal also appealed them to stand up as a strong force against corruption and insurgency.

“There is no short-cut to success. You will be successful if you diligently follow the guidance of your parents, teachers and spiritual gurus. This is the golden period of your life. Always try to maintain quality in your life and work,”Sonowal said. He also underscored the State Government’s initiatives for making Guwahati the Sports Capital of the India. He said that as a result of government endeavours, regular tiol and intertiol sports events are presently being held in Assam.
