Mongolian food fest in city from Dec 16

GUWAHATI, Dec 13: The mouth-watering Mongolian Food Festival is just three days away. The foodies of Assam and other States in the region have reason to thank the North East Social Cultural Development Society (NESCDS), an NGO which is going to hold the food festival at Rajaduar Ghat at Panbazar in the city from December 16 to 25.      

NESCDS holds Mongolian Food Festival every year in Guwahati. Mongolian cuisines are diverse, so are their cultures, languages and attires. Such food festivals never come only with delicacies. They bring for visitors a lot like traditiol attires, locally-made wood and bamboo crafts, besides cultural shows.

The festival will have equestrian for children. In all the ten days, the festival will have cultural programmes in the evening.

Talking to newsmen in the city today, NESCDS president Joli Baruah said: “Apart from Mongolian delicacies, traditiol attires and dolls for children will be on display. In all, there will be around 80 stalls, including 35 food stalls.”

Filmmaker Sanjiv rayan will open the festival on December 16.
