Murder accused arrested

GUWAHATI, Feb 21: The prime accused of the murder of 45-year-old Brajen Sarma, a man hailing from Bijay gar in Noonmati area of the city, was today arrested by police from Baksa district. The arrested accused has been identified as gen Das. Police said gen was arrested from the house of one Ranjit Boro at Borbori area in Baksa district. Police also detained Ranjit for giving shelter to accused gen. Sarma was attacked by an unidentified man on Saturday with a machete at Sunsali Ghat. Sarma, who sustained a grievous head injury, was admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
