NDFB-P rebel arrested

GUWAHATI, Feb 17: The police bbed an NDFB-P rebel while collecting ransom from a cement company in the city last night.

According to reports, NDFB-P rebel Raja Basumatary (35), hailing from Paschim Kharuwa in Barama and staying at Karbi Path under Geetagar police station in the city, and outfit’s publicity secretary Sangjara had demanded Rs 20 lakh from the office of Star Cement in November 2016. Since then the outfit had been in touch with the cement company on the issue of the ransom amount. Raja was arrested by the police when was collecting the amount last night.
