NDRF-IOC-NFR conduct mock fire safety drill in city

GUWAHATI, August 20: tiol Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted a joint mock exercise on fire safety in co-ordition with IOCL today at a diesel locomotive shed, NF Railway, New Guwahati.

The tiol Safety Council (NSC) is organizing and conducting specialized training courses, conferences, semirs and workshops; conducting consultancy studies such as safety audits, hazard evaluation and risk assessment; designing and developing HSE promotiol materials and publications; facilitating organizations in celebrating various campaigns like Safety Day, Fire Service Week, World Environment Day. It has been doing dedicated service to the tion in developing and leading the voluntary movement under the guidance of the governing body since 1966.

The mock drill was executed after meticulous planning by 1st Battalion tiol Disaster Response Force in coordition with IOCL.

The NDRF, IOCL and railway personnel displayed amazing skills during mock drill, they rescued/evacuated the victims placed under various simulated scerios. The equipments and manpower used in the exercise played a crucial role in the rescue operations. This mock drill showed preparedness of the staff and officers concerned, especially during fire emergencies. Such type of mock drills will definitely help Railways, IOCL and NDRF personnel to boost their self-confidence during such rescue and relief operations.

During the drill, NDRF, Railways and IOCL personnel demonstrated rescue/evacuation of fire emergency victims using fire extinguishers and fire fighting equipments. During mock drill, effective methodology and response drills was rehearsed and practiced to ensure effective, speedy & safe operation.
