NDRF teams active in rescue operations

GUWAHATI, July 11: Four teams of the first Battalion tiol Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is deployed at Patgaon in Guwahati have been pre-positioned for flood rescue and relief operation in Jorhat, Barpeta, Sonitpur and Cachar districts, a press release said.

The search and rescue team deployed in Jorhat on July 7 is conducting flood rescue operations in the villages affected by flood due to breach of the embankment on river Bhogdoi near village Mollowkhat under revenue circle Jorhat West and 24 villages of revenue circle Jorhat West and Teok. The dedication to serve humanity helped the team to evacuate marooned people to safer places and also relief materials given by the civil administration have been distributed among the flood-affected people in villages falling under revenue circle Jorhat West. Additiol NDRF teams are kept ready as standby teams in case of requirement for any kind of emergency.
