NE Book Fair from November 3

GUWAHATI, Oct 3: All Assam Publishers and Book Sellers’ Association (AAPBSA) is going to hold the 19th North East Book Fair, 2017 from November 3-14 at AEI Playground, Chandmari in the city.

AAPBSA president Ajit Kumar Barman, while addressing the media on Tuesday, said that this edition of the book fair would be dedicated to renowned drama persolity Arun Sarma and veteran jourlist Radhika Mohan Bhagawati. He said that while the temporary stage of the book fair would be dedicated to actor-producer of Kohinoor Theatre Ratan Lahakar and film persolity Abdul Majid, the auditorium would be dedicated to publisher and book seller Late Harichanran Bhattacharya, Tapan Saraswati, Jites Bhuyan and Deepak Kalita and the meeting hall to former AAPBSA secretary Late Pabitra Lahkar. He said that book stalls from Bangladesh, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ludhia, Siliguri, Hyderabad, Agartala, Guwahati and other places of Assam would take part in the fair that would be iugurated by eminent writer Dr. gen Saikia in the presence of actor Victor Banerjee. Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal would be the chief guest at the iugural function. The budget of the book fair is Rs 50 lakh.
