GUWAHATI, Dec 14: “We have organized various drives on charitable mobile dispensary, de-addiction centre at Udalguri, awareness and importance of iron folic acid tablets among the adolescents and others in rural areas without any fund,” said North East Helping (NEH) spokesperson Jiten Saikia in a press conference in Guwahati Press Club today. Saikia said: “Our projects are based on mass education in rural areas, inculcatation of hygienic habits among people. We worked on distribution of medicines for diseases like hepatitis, malaria, encephalitis, dengue, etc., to bring about awareness on fatal effects of rcotics which cause HIV-infection and others. We have got the approval to start a rehabilitation centre, but have not received the fund as yet. We, therefore, request the government and the people to help us to initiate the drive and make the rehabilitation centre a reality.”
