New train service flagged off

GUWAHATI, January 29: Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu flagged off a new special train service between Kamakhya and Bangalore Cantonment (number 22503/22504) through remote from Bengaluru on Thursday afternoon.  At Kamakhya Railway Station, invited dignitaries, guests and others witnessed the flagging off at Bengaluru through video conferencing. The iugural train, which left Kamakhya at 2.30 pm, would run as a special train numbered 02504 and would have stoppages at New Jalpaiguri, Howrah, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada and Cheni Central, the release stated.  The regular train services, dates of which would be notified later, would leave Kamakhya at 8.30 pm and would reach Bangalore Cantonment at 9.15 pm after a journey of 48 hours and forty–five minutes. The special train have some unique features. Tickets for the train are available only through IRCTC website and all tickets are sold against confirmed reservation – there is no provision of issuing any wait–listed tickets in this train.
