NFR holds quiz contest

GUWAHATI, Jan 17: For the first time NF Railway participated in the exhibition of Brihattar gaon Bhogali Bihu Sanmilani started from January 13 and continued up to January 17 at Dawson School playground, gaon. Many informative write-ups and Railway models are on display in the exhibition which attracted a large number of visitors, a press release said.

A railway quiz competition was also held at the Railway Exhibition Stall on January 15. The quiz competition was iugurated by Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain in the presence of gaon Sadar MLA Rupak Sharma.

In his iugural speech, Gohain gave a brief description on the Indian Railways. He encouraged the students to compete the railways and other departmental exams. He also declared a new train service ‘ASTHA EXPRESS’ for the devotees of the north-eastarn region to be started from February 17 covering many religious places of the Eastern sector. The local MLA and the Bihu Sanmilani appreciated N F Railway for arranging such a nice exhibition and railway quiz at gaon for the greater benefit of the public and students.

The following students emerged to get positions in the quiz are – 1st Prize Sumit Das of Sandipani Vidyamandir, Class VII; Second Prize Arb Gautam Saha of Christ Jyoti shool, Class X and 3rd Prize Aryan K Saha of Christ Jyoti school, Class VIII in Group B Class.

The 1st prize in group A went to Jyotiraditya Kashyap of Christ Jyoti school, Class VI. The 2nd prize in the group went to Goutam Chauhan of Maypathari High School, class VII and the 3rd prize to Diksita Chandilya of Nowgong Mission High, School Class V. The winners of the quiz compitition were awarded with prizes and certificates.
