GUWAHATI, Nov 13: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has been able to allot greater time for renewal of assets due to systematic planning in train operations. “By some precise planning we’ve resorted to planned cancellations of trains on lean demand days viz. Sundays which has led to a big increase in the allotment of traffic block. During September, 2016 only 53% of the time was sanctioned for undertaking renewal as well as repair of assets. But, during September, 2017 it could be increased to 93.73%. Similarly, in-comparison to 48.48% available maintence time during October, 2016 the situation improved up to 81.11% during October, 2017 due to meticulous planning of train operations," an NF Railway release said.
