GUWAHATI, March 20: State BJP president Ranjit Dass announced yet another deferment in the expansion of the State Cabinet. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal is yet to induct eight ministers into his Cabinet, and this has created an undercurrent among the coalition parties on portfolios.
The party had to defer dates for Cabinet expansion many a time earlier. Dass said today that the there would be no Cabinet expansion before the Dhemaji bye-poll slated for April 9 this year. This amply means that there will be any Cabinet expansion before the Rongali Bihu. Dass said that even as the Cabinet expansion is a prerogative of the Chief Minister, the party sees no chance of Cabinet expansion before the Bihu.
