GUWAHATI, March 16: The AIUDF is going to support the no-trust motion to be moved in Parliament against the rendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre on March 21, 2018.
NDA’s coalition partner TDP withdrew its support to the Government on Friday. The TDP and YSR Congress are going to move the no-confidence motion in Parliament on March 21.
In a statement issued to the press on Friday, AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal said: “The rendra Modi-led Government at the Centre has failed to meet the hopes and aspirations of people of the country. It has also failed to protect the interests of minorities and backward classes. This is why we’ve decided to support the no-confidence motion to be moved on March 21.”
Meanwhile, AIUDF general secretary (organization) Aminul Islam said: “The BJP is in power at the Centre and in Assam, yet the Government at the Centre has not been benign to Assam. It has stripped Assam of its special status, besides turning a deaf ear on burning issues in the State like flood and erosion, foreigners problem, etc. In such a situation, we’ve no reason to back the government.”
