Now Tripathy to write book on Lachit

GUWAHATI, Dec 14: The famed writer of Shiva Trilogy, Amish Tripathy, has said that he is going to write a series of books on the great Ahom general, Lachit Borphukan. Tripathy was in Guwahati on Sunday when he released the Assamese rendering of his ‘The Oath of Vayuputras’ at a simple function. Speaking at the book release function, Tripathy said: “The brave hearts, who loved their motherland, fought against all invaders who wanted to grab their land and wealth, and Lachit Borphukan is one of them. Such tiol heroes and heroines of India are quite known to the people of mainland India. However, the war strategy and bravery of Great Ahom General Lachit Borphukan is still to be known among all and sundry in mainland India.” ‘The Oath of Vayuputras’ has been translated into Assamese by Sahitya Akademi Award-winning writer Bipul Deuri.
