Now winter carnival in city

GUWAHATI, Dec 19: Vibrant, an NGO, is going to hold ‘Guwahati Winter Carnival’ from December 22-25 at Ulubari Government High School field in the city with a slew of programmes. The main motto of the event is helping ‘mother old-age home’ fincially.

Talking to newsmen in the city today, Vibrant adviser Lee Rahan said: “We’re going to contribute one per cent of the profit from the carnival for the wellbeing of old-age homes. The cost of a ticket is Rs 20. For students, their identity cards will serve the purpose of tickets. They’ll get free access to the events.”

“A car rally for women will be taken out on December 22 from the venue of the carnival. Every evening there will be cultural programmes. Chirstmas will be celebrated at the carnival venue on December 25,” Rahan said, and added that Zubin Garg, Dikshu, Stuti and other artistes would perform at the cultural programme. She said that there would be as many as 50 food stalls at the carnival.
