NPS qualifies for World Robot Olympiad

Guwahati, Sept 20: NPS Intertiol School, Guwahati has been qualified to take part in the tiol-level of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) (Senior Category), 2016 to be held in Kolkata on October 22 and 23, a press release said.

The regiol level of the coveted competition held at Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya, (HKV), Guwahati under the supervision of Regiol Science Centre, Guwahati. A large number of schools from different areas of the North-east took part in the regiol level of the two-day competition starting from September 3, 2016. The results of the competition were declared on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.  The theme of this year’s competition was on “Swach Bharat” where students were supposed to design robots for waste magement, said Mril Jyoti Hira, coach of NPS Intertiol School.

The me of NPS students who took part in the regiol level of the competition are Dipankar Buragohain, Dipankar Choudhury, Kulajyoti Goswami, Pratyay Talukdar (all from Class XI), Dhimandeb Goswami (Class X) and Aditya Kapor (Class VIII).

Apart from NPS Intertiol School, other two teams qualified for the tiol (Senior Category) of the competition from the region are: Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya, Guwahati and Regiol Science Centre, Guwahati.
