NREGA employees want regularization of jobs

GUWAHATI, Aug 4:&nbsp; The All Assam NREGA Employee Development Council took to streets on Friday at Dighalipukhuripar in the city for the government&rsquo;s failure to redress their demand on providing permanent employment.&nbsp; The council stated that their jobs need to be made permanent like the employees of NREGA Employee Development Council of other states. Besides, it also demanded payment of monthly remuneration similar to the employees recruited under NRLM and NRHM schemes.&nbsp; Nearly, 3000 protesters from every district assembled to participate in the day-long protest.&nbsp; The president of the All Assam NREGA Employee Development Council said: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s been almost a decade, yet our jobs have not been made permanent by the government.&rdquo;</p>
