Dr. Prab Kumar Barua

GUWAHATI, Nov 20: Dr. Prab Kumar Barua, a retired professor and the Head of Department of Surgery, Assam Medical College (AMC), Dibrugarh passed away this morning at a nursing home in the city. He was 78. Besides being a surgeon of repute, Dr. Barua was actively associated with various social and cultural organizations. He was also the former district governor of Rotary Intertiol under district 3240. An amiable, soft-spoken and popular man, he leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives. His demise is widely mourned.
