Oldest mammal in State Zoo dies

GUWAHATI, July 19: Mohan, the oldest mammal in the State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden in Guwahati, died on Tuesday night.

Mohan, a male rhino in the State zoo, was 50 years old. The normal life span of rhino ranges from 40 to 45 years. Mohan was brought from Southwitch Birds and Animals Inc, Black Stone USA on December 22, 1974.

The oldest caged Royal Bengal Tigress died in the State zoo on July 16.
