On screen tourism ad campaign within a month, says Sarma

GUWAHATI, August 2: The advertisement campaign to showcase Assam as a tourist destition in the tion and abroad will be seen within a month.

When asked on the status of film actor Priyanka Chopa as the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism State Tourism Minister Himata Biswa Sarma said this. The reporters wanted to know from the minister the status of Chopra as the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism. Such a question from the media arose after Bollywood actor Amir Khan generously extending Rs 25 lakh for relief of flood affected people of Assam, besides making an appeal to all for similar generous dotion.  In his reply, Sarma said: “The shooting of the advertisement campaign is over. You’ll see the advertisements within a month in BBC, CNN, Japan etc.”

When the media wanted to know if the advertisements would increase the tourist flow to the State, Sarma said: “We conducted a survey on the popularity of Indian actors abroad. We found Priyanka Chopa as the most popular. After a year, we’ll conduct a review to ascertain the footfall of tourists last year and this year. If the result is not up to expectation, we’ve to think an altertive approach.”
