Only 725 of 1,158 ASTC vehicles on road: Patowary

GUWAHATI, July 20: As many as 161 of the 1,158 vehicles of Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) have been lying condemn.  Only 725 of the 1,158 vehicles of the Corporation are plying on the road and 272 other are under repairing. Replying to a question from Congress legislator Durga Bhumij, State Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary informed the Assam Assembly of this today. Replying to another query from AGP MLA Utpal Dutta, Patowary said: “As on June 30, 2016 ASTC has a liability of Rs 93.89 crore since 2001.”
