AGP demands disclosure of the ga framework agreement

GUWAHATI, Nov 2:  The opposition parties have demanded a special session of the Assam Assembly to discuss issues regarding formation of “Greater galim” and possible handing over of Assam’s land while AGP has demanded  the framework agreement signed between the Centre and NSCN (I-M) in 2015 for a solution to the ga problem be made public.

The Assam Congress has taken up a series of protests in this regard from November 10 to 15. The party will stage a protest on November 10 at Merapani along the galand border against the framework agreement between the NSCN (I-M) and the Centre.

The AGP, an ally of the BJP governmnet, has demanded the Centre make public the clauses of the agreement.  Demanding disclosure of the contents of communication with the Centre in connection with the framework agreement, AGP general secretary Kamala Kanta Kalita said that the compromise of the territorial integrity of Assam will not be tolerated.

The AIUDF demanded a special session of the Assembly over the issue.  A team of AIUDF legislators led by MLA Aminul Islam on Thursday met Assam Assembly speaker Hitendra th Goswami at Dispur and requested him to convene a special session of the House to discuss the issue.
