Pakhi Miyan sent to jail

GUWAHATI, May 15: Pakhi Miyan has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The court has asked the police to grill Miyan in the jail. He was produced to the session court today in connection with a case (135/17 under NDPS Act) registered in Bashishtha police station in the city. The police had been on the trail of a truck from Karbi Anglong carrying 470 kg ganja comprising 47 packets in February this year. The police were able to catch the truck at Lokhara in the city, leading to the registration of a case (135/17 under NDPS Act) in Bashishtha police station. Pakhi Miyan was arrested on May 13 this year in connection with the case.
