By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 19: Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), as RSS is known at the intertiol level, joint coorditor Ravi Kumar Iyer has kept his hope alive that someday Pakistan will have a responsible leader who can make the country develop more than India.

In his face-to-face with jourlists at Dispur Press Club here today, Iyer said: “India’s image has got a boost at the intertiol level now. Earlier, India was known for its poverty, famine, illiteracy, underdevelopment and the like. However, now we’re inching towards a golden age. Indians have explored the space, developed a lot in IT and supercomputer. If we proceed with improving better communication and cleanliness, we’ll soon be at the golden age. India’s image has gone for a decisive change after the May 11, 1998 N-test at Pukhran.”

Without ming the surgical strike in PoK by Indian army, Iyer said that on September 29 this year, India’s image got yet another fillip at the intertiol level.

“Earlier, Indians residing elsewhere in the globe couldn’t propagate or practice Indian culture. However, now NRIs very much feel Indian culture, and they’re proud of it. Diwali is now celebrated at Olympic Park in Australia amidst the presence of mammoth gathering. Even the Aussie Prime Minister enjoys Diwali,” Iyer said, and added: “After Prime Minister rendra Modi’s appeal to the UNO, yoga is now accepted intertiolly. This speaks volumes of takers of Indian culture at the intertiol level.”

When asked on Pakistan, Iyer said: “Pakistan’s bonhomie with terrorists is an open secret now. However, we want Pakistan to develop more than India. Let there be a responsible leader in Pakistan who can make the country develop. I keep my hope alive that someday Pakistan will get a responsible leader.”

When asked if any spiritual leader from Assam can be taken abroad for delivering lecture on the philosophy of Srimanta Sankardeva, Iyer said: “It’s a good idea. We’ll have a look into this aspect.”
