Paul’s bail plea rejected

Guwahati, Jan 12: The Gauhati High court today rejected the bail pleas of suspended chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Rakesh Kumar Paul, commission members Samedur Rahman, Basanta Doley, Assistant engineer of Dibrugarh town and country planning department, bakanta Patir and Pabitra Kaibarta.

All of them were arrested by Dibrugarh police for their alleged involvement in the cash-for-jobs scam in the APSC.

After completing the bail hearing, a bench of Justice MR Pathak, passed this order declining to grant them bail. The HC also rejected the anticipatory bail application of Sudip Das, another accused in APSC cash-for-job scam.
