Peon held for theft at Tarun Gogoi's house

GUWAHATI, Oct 14: The City Police have arrested a peon in connection with the theft of iron plates from the residence of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi atop Koidhara Hills at Khapara here. The arrested peon has been identified as Robindra Rajbongshi (40). The security personnel engaged at the former Chief Minister’s residence caught the peon red-handed on Saturday when he was trying to take away the iron plates in a vehicle from Gogoi’s residence. The security personnel handed him over to Basistha police, who subsequently arrested him.
