GUWAHATI, April 29: Suspended Assam Agricultural University (AAU) - Principal Scientist (PHT) Rajen Borpujari of Khapara Veteriry Science College, Principal Scientist (DNSRC) Nikunja Deka and Principal Scientist (NSP) Umesh Kalita, both of Jorhat Agricultural College -  have many allegations against them.

The inquiry conducted by AAU revealed that the three senior professors were instrumental in engineering protest against the Vice Chancellor KM Buzarbaruah. It came to the fore on April 22 when all stakeholders of the University, including students, teachers  and other staff, observed a total closure of AAU in protest against the inquiry ordered into the alleged fincial anomalies.

It is worth mentioning here that the Board of Magement of the university, at its 234th meeting held on November 22, 2013, had approved exemplary discipliry action against persons behind framing allegations against the VC and thus defaming the university. It is ordered that during the period that the suspension order shall remain in force, all the three suspended professors shall not leave their headquarters without permission from the authority. Meanwhile, an inquiry conducted against Dr. Borpujari, according to AAU registrar, revealed that he had plagiarized a photograph from MVSc thesis and presented it under a different  caption in the intertiol conference on Yak held on April 20-22, 2009 in Dirang, Aruchal Pradesh.
