PM visit: Dispur, Vajpayee Bhawan on their toes

GUWAHATI, May 21: Both Dispur and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan are on their toes on Prime Minister rendra Modi’s visit to the State. Both the government and the party have been holding meetings and forming committees so as to make the tour of the Prime Minister a smooth affair.

Modi is going to address the tion from the podium at Khapara in Guwahati on May 26.  Road renovation and beautification works, including dying, cleaning etc., are going on at a fast pace in the city, especially on routes through which the convoy of the Prime Minister would roll. From Lokapriya Gopith Bordoloi Intertiol Airport to Jalukbari, the NH-37 from Jalukbari-Khapara, GS Road and other main thoroughfares in the city are being renovated and beautified.  The Kamrup(M) district administration has been holding meetings almost every day so as to review the preparedness, including security.    According to police sources, 72 CCTVs are to be used for the security of the Prime Minister on May 26 at Khapara playground that would have nine entry and exit points, including some for VIPs and VVIPs.    

With over one lakh people are expected to throng the Prime Minister’s rally, a huge medical tram has also been kept ready to meet any emergency situation. There will facilities for potable water at the venue.
