PMAY: GMC to kick start demand survey from June 12

GUWAHATI, June 3: ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yoj (Urban) – Housing For All’ the ambitious mission of the Central Government to provide pucca houses to all by 2022 is geared up in Assam covering all the 97 Urban Local Bodies (ULB). The ULBs comprise the Guwahati Municipal Corporation, Municipality Boards and Town Committees. In Assam, the mission envisages to provide pucca houses to approximately 2 lakh families. A comprehensive awareness drive has been undertaken in all the ULB areas, a press release said. The demand survey to obtain the data of the families residing in ULB and planning areas without a pucca house has already started in 96 ULB areas barring GMC. The demand survey form is being distributed for the purpose. In Guwahati, GMC will start the demand survey from 12th of June, 2017 onwards, the release added.
