Pokhraj Jain initiated as Digambar Jain Muni

GUWAHATI, Sept 24: A disciple of Jainism from Guwahati has been initiated as a Digambar Jain Muni as per scared rituals of Jainism on Sunday. Pokhraj Jain of Guwahati has come out with his dedication and sacrificed to be Digambar Jain Muni. The oath was performed by Muni Punya Sahgarji Maharaj and his team from Madhya Pradesh. He is the first person from Assam who has become a Digambar Jain Muni. The initiation ‘ was held at Old Jail Complex, Guwahati and thousands of people of the community thronged the programme. A number of veterans of the community were felicitated in the programme. President of Digambar Jain Samaj, Guwahati Mahavir Jain and writer Kishore Kumar Jain was also present on the occasion.
