Police arrests accused of Jalukbari firing

GUWAHATI, Dec 21: Jalukbari police arrested Amir Ali (32) from Gorchuk last night in connection with the December 17 firing incident at Jalukbari. Ali hails from Barpeta. Ali has long been associated with a car lifters’ racket. His five accomplices in the firing have been absconding. Jiten Kalita sustained bullet injury on December 17 when six motorcycle-borne youths fired at him when he prevented them from stching away his purse containing Rs 45,0000.
