Police clarification on fire incident

GUWAHATI, Aug 16: It has come to notice that a banned organization is trying to ‘float’ a story regarding the death of two persons in a blast at Hahakati under Kakopathar PS as done by some agencies of the Government. In a clarification issued to the press in this regard by Assam Police CPRO Rajib Saikia said ‘on 15.8.17 at 10 pm the fire broke out due to electricity theft and short circuit in a farm house of Ambeswar Moran of Hahakati Gondhoiguri gaon under kakopothar PS. As a result the house was gutted and Ambeswar Moran (35) and his worker Kusha Kishan (30) died. During enquiry it is found that Ambeswar Moran hooked a wire in high voltage line and connected to a TV which resulted in this fatal fire’. Saikia requested all concerned not to believe in such figment of imagition of antisocial elements and rather try to influence general population not to resort to energy theft which may lead to serious consequences.
