Police constable involved in robbery surrenders

DIMORIA, June 11: Assam police constable Mridul Rabha , who allegedly involved in the robbery of Rs 25 lakh on NH 37 at Sopur on the city outskirts, surrendered before city police on Wednesday. It may be mentioned that on June 3 at 7.30 pm, Rs 25 lakh was looted from the employees of Shivam Ispat Company at Patarkuchi in the Sopur area by a six-member gang, all of whom were in police uniform. The company had to lodge a case (158/15) at Sopur police station under Section 397. Sopur police was investigating the case with the help of the crime investigation branch of the Guwahati Police Commissionerate and rounded up as many as 12 people, including six police personnel.
