PPFA endorses Thimphu on Beijing move

GUWAHATI, July 1: Patriotic People’s Front, Assam (PPFA) has endorsed the stand taken by the Bhutan Government crying foul against the Chinese illegitimate activities in Doklam  in Sikkim, also known as Donglang.

Bhutan’s Ambassador to India Vetsop mgyel recently commented that the ongoing construction of a road in the disputed Doklam area (near Sikkim) was a clear ‘violation’ of an agreement between Bhutan and Chi. Thimphu has asked Beijing to stop the construction immediately near Bhutanese army camps.

“Doklam is a disputed territory and Bhutan has a written agreement with Chi that pending the fil resolution of the boundary issue, peace and tranquility should be maintained in the area,” said Ambassador mgyel.

Meanwhile, the Chinese administration has blocked the Indian pilgrims on way to Kailash-Mansarover of Tibet through thu La Pass in Sikkim, which has been strongly condemned by the PPFA. In a statement, the patriotic forum argued that Communist Chi had recently made a number of irresponsible comments against India, which only showed its frustration as its neighbour started receiving global attentions.

The PPFA ridiculed Chi’s recent comments that India should take a lesson from 1962 war, rather it reminded the Beijing administration about their sudden retreat from the McMahon Line after declaring a midnight unilateral ceasefire on November 21, 1962 following the USA’s nuclear threats.

The forum urged the Union Government in New Delhi to rethink its foreign policy towards Tibet and eventually support the Tibetan movement directly to chase away Chi’s imperialist forces from the land of Dalai Lama.

“A free Tibet will be friendlier to India and it would bring a true sense of security to its grand Himalayan  border. Moreover, an independent Tibet will also help India to mitigate various environmental disasters looming large over the country,” the PPFA statement said.

It also asserted that the largest democracy in the globe has nothing to learn from a single party dictatorship like Chinese regime. Contrary to it, the infamous Tianmen Square Massacre mastermind can learn the essence of freedom of expression, dignity to human rights and pluralism from the land of Buddha and Gandhi.
