Prasad arriving in State today

GUWAHATI, Oct 24: In-charge of five of the seven Lok Sabha seats currently held by Opposition parties in Assam Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is arriving in Guwahati on Wednesday on a two-day visit to be immediately followed by his second leg,  also of two days.

While Prasad is the party in-charge of Silchar, Kokrajhar, Diphu, Barpeta and Kaliabor Lok Sabha constituencies, Mangaldai MP Ramen Deka is the in-charge of Dhubri and Karimganj constituencies. Prasad has already visited Silchar and taken stock of party activities there, and he is set to visit Barpeta and Kokrajhar on October 25 and 26 and Kaliabor and Diphu constituencies on October 29 and 30, 2017. State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass is to accompany the Union minister during the visit. Upon arrival in Guwahati on Wednesday, Prasad is to go for Howli in Barpeta district to attend a Lok Sabha constituency meeting in Barpeta LS Constituency. Halting the night at the Circuit House there, he is to leave for Kokrajhar on October 26 for a similar meeting and wind up this leg of his visit. He is scheduled to arrive in the State again on October 29 and 30 to visit Kaliabor and Diphu Lok Sabha constituencies to attending meetings there. He has already visited Silchar in September as party in-charge.
