GUWAHATI, Dec 23: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has med folk artiste Shambhu Rabha of Goalpara for the Padmashree Pratima Baruah Pandey Smarak Bota, 2017.
The premier students’ body of the state has been giving this award away every year to an artiste who dedicates his/her life for the development folk culture in the State.
In a statement issued to the press on Saturday, AASU president Dipanko Kumar th and general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi said that the award would be given away to Rabha on December 27, the death anniversary of the late Goalparia singer, at the park at Chandmari Swahid Uddyan.
