Pratima Pandey Award to Chandarsing Kro

GUWAHATI, Dec 22: Folk artiste Chandarsing Kro has been selected for the Pratima Baruah Pandey Memorial Award for the year 2016. Instituted by the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), the award, commemorating the 13th death anniversary of legendary Goalporiya folk singer Pratima Baruah Pandey, carries Rs 25,000 cash, an eri shawl and a shorai. AASU president Dipanka Kumar th and general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi said that the award will be formally handed over to Karbi folk music exponent Kro at Swahid Udyan at Chandmari here on December 27.
