Preparations for Shivaratri

GUWAHATI, Feb 10: The Kamrup(M) District Administration is going to deploy excise sleuths in an around Shiva temple premises in the city so as to keep a watch on the use bhang, ganja and other rcotics during the Shivarati slated for Wednesday next.  At a meeting presided over by ADC Pulak Mahanta on Saturday the arrangements for Shivarati at Shukreswar Temple, Umanda Temple, Bashistha Temple and Bhimashankar Temple were reviewed. The administration assured the mandir committees of all facilities for Shivaratri. Along with the police, SDRF personnel will also be deployed for security during the festival. In order to ferry devotees to and from Umanda Temple, IWT will be provided with eight ferries. Medical teams will also be deployed in all Shiva temple premises in the city. The meeting made it a point that no plastic materials would be allowed to be used during the festival.
