Preparations mammoth for booth presidents' rally!

State BJP set to welcome Shah with a rally on March 24

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 19: The 26,000 booth committee presidents and other leaders of the BJP who are set to gather at Khapara in the city on March 24, 2018 do make what mammoth really mean. The gathering slated to be attended by BJP’s tiol president Amit Shah is mammoth, so are the committees organizing it.

Talking to this reporter, a top State leader of the BJP said: “This is the biggest-ever meeting of the party in Assam at the lowest rung – polling booth – so far. Even as the immediate reason of the gathering seems to the forthcoming panchayat poll, in fact, the estimated reach of the meeting is much beyond the rural poll. This is an exercise of the party for the 2019 Lok Sabha poll as well.”

As a precursor of the March 24 booth presidents’ rally in the city, the party in the State has been carrying out another programme – Mandal Prabas – since February 15 this year, covering all the 303 mandal committees of the party in the State. According to this programme, top leaders of the party, including party’s State president and other leaders, stay a night out at mandals so as to hold discussions with grassroots workers and noted citizens. Apart from the party’s tiol president Amit Shah, the booth presidents’ meeting slated for March 24 this year is going to be attended by the party’s tiol general secretary (organization) Ramlal, State president Ranjit Kumar Dass, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, all the 38 district presidents of the party, the 303 mandal presidents and 26,000 booth committee presidents of the party are going to attend the rally.

Shah is going to vest the responsibility of elections to the party’s three lakh page in-charges of the state by formally starting their appointment at the March 24 rally. The page in-charges are also going to hold a meeting at Rani in December this year.

The party has already formed as many as 14 sub-committees, including a magement committee, for the smooth holding of the March 24 rally. The party has also formed ten departments for holding the rally.
