Probe into custody death

GUWAHATI, Feb 24: Following a directive from the Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC), Kamrup (M) Magistrate has ordered an inquiry into the death of Lakhan Marak (19), son of Rajen Marak of Sampathar Ikorabari under Pragjyoti police station in police custody on February 9. The youth was under the custody of Panikhaiti police station. The inquiry commission has been asked to submit its report to the ARHC within 15 days. Rajen Marak did lodge a complaint with the AHRC.
