Programme on martyr Rajbabu from tomorrow

GUWAHATI, March 10: The programme-packed commemoration of Martyr Rajbabu Singha is slated from March 12 at Mashugat on the ourskirts of Silchar town. The programme will conclude on March 13. Rajbabu Singha is the first martyr of the Bishnupriya Manipuri language movement.

The programme will begin at 10.30 am with the paying of floral wreath on the statue of the martyr on March 12. It will be followed by the release of a wall magazine ‘Amar Hopon’ soon after, a discussion on martyrs till 12-30 noon to be participated by college and university teachers and to be followed by an interaction with students, a semir on ‘Impact of Emotion on Legal Provision in Bishnupriya Manipuri Society’ till 1 pm, an awareness programme domestic violence to be conducted by District Legal Service Authority, Silchar, and a cultural programme in the evening.

The day will start with a literary discussion on March 13 to be conducted by writers DILS Lakshmindra Sinha, Kanchan Baran Sinha, Mrityunjay and Rasabati from 9 am -11 am; a debate for college teachers to be conducted by Gaddhiswar Madan Mukherjee and former BMSS president Manikanta Sinha; and a motivatiol programme on entrepreneurship in Bishnupriya Manipuri community.
