Pulakesh Baruah joins BJP

GUWAHATI, April 29: Senior AGP leader and former Assam Assembly Speaker Pulakesh Baruah joined the AGP today in the presence of state BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharyya. Baruah said that he had been attracted to the policies of the BJP. "I want some sort of political changes in Assam which, I see, only the BJP can bring. The Congress and the AGP can't bring such changes. In fact, the AGP has failed to protect the interests of the people of Assam. Intertiol border fencing, NRC update and solution to the unemployment problem in Assam can't be solved by the Congress and the AGP. I have joined the BJP in consultation of the people of Borkhetri, my constituency."
