Rabiram Brahma conferred Prab Barua Art Award 2015

GUWAHATI, Dec 31: The Prab Barua art award for the year 2015 will be given to the veteran artist of the state Rabiram Brahma, for his life-long contribution in the field of art by the Prab Barua Art Award Committee (PBAAC).
PBAAC president Birendra th Dutta said in a statement today. “We use to give this award every year to an artist of the Northeast for his contribution in the field of art. This year, this award will be given to Rabiram Brahma in an award ceremony programme in Guwahati on February 22, 2016. Brahma will be awarded with a big momentum, a certificate and Rs 25,000. Earlier this award was give3n to the artists like Shobha Brahma, Benu Mishra, Nilpaban Barua and others. Brahma was born in 1952 in Routa of Udalguri district of the state. He has completed his studies from Dolgaon High School and Darrang College. Later, he has completed his bachelor degree in fine arts from College of Art and Craft of Pat in 1979 and has completed masters degree in painting from MS University of Baroda in 1984,” the release said.
