Railway mazdoor, employees' union stage protest demonstration

GUWAHATI, Jan 21: In bid to protest against the negligence of the Union government towards the Central government employees’ and to press for the various demands, the NF Railway Employees’ Union and the NF Railway Mazdoor Union staged a protest demonstration in Guwahati on Thursday.

The various demands of the unions include announcement of 7th pay commission, scrapping of the new pension scheme, scrapping of FDI in railways, privatization of government sector, bonus ceiling etc.

Setting a deadline, the unions said, that if the government failed to act by the 1st week of February 2016, the unions along with its all India branches will soon launch an indefinite strike.

It may be mentioned that on Thursday similar demonstrations were also organized in various other parts of the region.
