Rally taken out to condemn Kanhaiya's arrest

GUWAHATI, Feb 25: Various female organizations like Asom Mahila Sangha (AMS), Gatantrik Mahila Samiti (GMS) and Juki Baat (JB) staged a demonstration at Diaghalipukhuri of the city today condemning the arrest of student leader Kanhaiya Kumar.

Asomi Gogoi of AMS said, “Some commul groups had attacked the students of the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and arrested the JNU student union’s president Kanhaiya Kumar pretending him as ‘anti-tiol’, and any steps has been taken against the incident. People started to protest everywhere in the country but no response have come yet. We condemn this incident of JNU and demand proper investigation of the incident and punish the culprits immediately.”
