Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav ends

GUWAHATI, March 31: The fifth ‘Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav’ that began at Tawang in Aruchal Pradesh on March 23 concluded at Shilpgram, Guwahati today. 
galand Governor and North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) president PB Acharya, Aruchal Pradesh Cultural Affairs Minister Dr. Mahesh Chai, Padmashree Sum Saring Lepsa, Surya Hazarika, Padmashree Helen Giri and others were present at the concluding function here today.
The cultural programmes conducted were dance, music, theatre, puppetry etc. Over 200 troupes of artistes from the Northeast performed. As many as 5,000 State artistes and around 2,000 artistes from other States of the country took part at the cultural event. A puppetry show was held from March 26 to 31 at Silpgram at Punjabari in Guwahati as part of the festival. The show is for school children. The event also had extended programmes at Dipamur, Majuli, Imphal, Aizawl, Gangtok, Shilling, and Khowai in Tripura.
