RBI meet on Forex

GUWAHATI, March 22: Foreign Exchange Department, RBI Guwahati, conducted an awareness programme on Forex on March 21, 2017 in Karimganj District Library to dissemite information on various provisions and regulations of Import-Export and border trade facilities under FEMA, 1999, eBiz portal and fictitious offers. 
Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj, Commissioner of customs, Superintendent of Land Customs Station (LCS) of Karimganj border area, senior officials of district administration, representatives of AD Banks and Importers-Exporters Traders and Customers of different banks attended the programme.
Welcoming the participants, Guite outlined the purpose of the session. He mentioned that the programme has been organized for the benefit of importers, exporters and customers of the region as well as AD banks. He urged the participants to take full advantage of the session and to clear doubts about Import-Export and Border Trade.
Addressing the programme Karimganj Deputy Commissioner Pradip Kumar Talukdar stressed the importance and development of Import, Export and Border Trade in Indo-Bangla areas, basically in Karimganj and its bordering areas. He urged the RBI’s Guwahati Regiol office to conduct more such programmes in Karimganj and the Barak Valley areas.
