Recovery of fake rhino horns from treasury proved our allegations: AIUDF

GUWAHATI, August 27: Reacting sharply to the recovery of a number of fake rhino horns in Tezpur treasury, the AIUDF has said that the development has corroborated the allegations which the party has all along been levelling against the people concerned. In a statement issued to the press today, the AIUDF said: “We’ve all along been alleging that a section of politicians and forest and other officials have been involved in the illegal trade of rhino horns in the State. Politicians and forest officials do have a nexus with the local poachers and intertiol rhino horn smugglers. The latest recovery of fake rhino horns from Tezpur Treasury has corroborated our allegations and doubts.” AIUDFLP leader and party’s general secretary Hafis Basir Ahmed Kashimi requested the BJP-led Government at Dispur to go ahead with the investigation seriously. “There’re more skeletons in the closet and big fishes in the racket,” he said.
