Renu Devi no more

GUWAHATI, March 13: Noted educationist, writer and former Head of the Department of Education, Gauhati University, Renu Devi passed away at her Kharguli residence in the city today. She was 84. She leaves behind her only son and daughter-in-law.

Born on July 30, 1933 she was the widow of former GU vice chancellor Debaprasad Barooah. She had many books to her credit. Her mortal remains were cremated at bagraha Crematorium in the city.

Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and many organizations of the State, including the AASU, condoled her death.
